This Week’s Sign of the Apocalypse

The Skins are losing to the frakkin’ Bengals. Kill me now.

Little Platoons

Not quite what Burke had in mind, perhaps, but this grassroots effort to rein in Bengals GM Mike Brown is awesome (via Peter King). Here are the fan-funded billboards, and here is the site’s manifesto:

Preamble

IN THIS TIME of perpetual Cincinnati Bengals incompetence and futility, with zero playoff wins in the seventeen seasons since the WhoDeyRevolution Godfather, Paul Brown, passed away in 1991 and handed the team to his fortunate son, the Despot, Mike Brown;

Introduction

WE, the members of the Who Dey Revolution, in our fervent dedication to the Cincinnati Bengals and fanatical desire to transform our hometown team into perpetual Super Bowl contenders, call for a popular revolution of fans to demand comprehensive reform to the managerial decisions and approach of Cincinnati Bengals ownership, management, staff and players, and hereby call for the adoption of the following Who Dey Revolution Manifesto . . .

Rooting for the Dan Snyder-era Redskins may be the sports equivalent of purgatory, but the plight of hapless Bengals fans is assuredly worse. Vive la Révolution!

Reckless Predictions

Go Skins! But I have the Steelers coming out on top.

Lions in Winter

Beating an 0-6 team quarterbacked by Dan Orlovsky should not be a nail-biting affair well into the fourth quarter. After an upset loss to the Rams and a close win over Cleveland, I’m beginning to wonder about this team.

Excruciating

The Redskins game, not Palin’s SNL performance. The latter was merely awkward and uncomfortable.

Today Was A Good Day

Mary Washington KS went on a tear at Kentucky, the second national circuit policy debate tournament of the year. They finished up 6-2, beating teams from Michigan (twice), Kansas, Miami of Ohio, Dartmouth, and Georgetown. Qualifying for elimination rounds is quite an accomplishment, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a deep run tomorrow (quarterfinals or bust!).

The Skins romped over the Eagles.

Also, I did not have to use my AK.

Cowboys and Indians

Go Skins!

UPDATE: Campbell looks damn good.

UPDATE II: Ha – the Cowboys are doomed.

UPDATE III: Moss usually comes up big against the Cowboys, but 125 yards in the first half?

UPDATE IV: Hmmm. Romo seems to have regained some of his mojo on that last drive. Still, a solid first half.

UPDATE V: Two touchdowns called back? Jayzus.

UPDATE VI: Damn, what a nail-biter. Let’s hope the defense can hold for the last three minutes.

UPDATE VII: An .mp3 is worth a thousand words. Suck it Dallas.
